Open Day 2012 - Date announced!

A big thank you to all the local people and businesses who donated prizes for the raffle on the June 2011 open day. £574.05 was raised, half of which is being donated to Blend youth project, Heanor.
It is wonderful that so many local people and businesses have pulled together and joined in the community spirit of Roper Avenue Allotments.

Roper Avenue Allotment open days -
The next open day is Sunday 26 August 2012 11am - 3pm.
Allotment Open Day & BBQ
Come along and join the plot holders for a fantastic fundraising event.
The fun starts at 11am with the following activities:
BBQ with local butchers sausages and burgers (Mmm, mmmm), Plant and produce stall, Craft stall, Refreshments & cake stall, Book stall, Lots of fun childrens (& adults who still like to have fun) activities, Raffle - with a massive food hamper full of both long lasting and freshly picked produce, and many more great prizes.
Guided tours of the allotments with our experts on hand for great growing advice will take place at regular intervals.
A very warm welcome will be given to all who come along.
Again we are raising money for a local charity, watch this space to see which one.
